How do I order?

We are so happy you would like to order a Benton The Label piece! As all items are handmade to order, we will only begin to make your piece after you place your order through our website. All of our pieces are cut, sewn and finished from our sunny studio right here in Auckland, and will take up to three weeks to be made. You will receive email confirmations at the time of purchase and the time of shipping, and if you have any questions regarding the status of your order at any stage, we'd love to help. Please feel free to get in touch at any time!

How long will my order take to be made?

All items on our website are handmade to order from our Auckland based studio. All orders will take up to three weeks to be handmade, depending on the number of orders we are currently working on. We will let you know when your parcel has been shipped so you can track it’s delivery from there. If you need an item sooner than this, we do offer a ‘Priority Order’ option. Please contact us via email prior to purchasing and we will be happy to assist you further.

Where are your pieces made?

All of our pieces have been carefully designed, drafted, toiled, cut, sewn and finished from our little studio in sunny Mission Bay, Auckland, New Zealand. We source all of our fabric and finishings from local New Zealand suppliers and our size grading has been outsourced in Kingsland, Auckland.

Can I return my order?

Please note that due to the made to order nature of our pieces, we are unable to accept returns. If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, please get in touch and we will do our very best to help. Your handmade pieces have been made to last a lifetime, so we want to ensure you’re completely satisfied with your purchase.

How do I order the correct size?

It is so important to us to ensure you order the perfect size! We currently offer all of our styles in NZ 6–16 and you can find our sizing chart on our website. We would absolutely recommend taking a few measurements of your body if possible, to ensure you are ordering the best size for you. You can easily enter these measurements at the checkout stage online, to ensure the perfect made to measure fit! We are always more than happy to help with any queries at all, and are happy to send specific measurements from our styles through to you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Do you make sizes outside of 6-16?

We would love to help where possible! Please get in touch via email or our contact page, and we will do our best to assist. We have plans in place to extend our size range in the future as we grow, and appreciate any and all feedback on which sizes to include. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

If an item says sold out online how can I order?

As a small, made to order, independent brand, we currently order our fabrics in relatively small quantities. As we work with dead stock fabric where possible, this will usually mean that once a piece has sold out, it is gone forever in that specific fabric! We'd recommend getting in quickly when we launch our new pieces, and always let us know if you've missed out on a piece, so we can know to search for similar fabrics for a re-release. We would also recommend following our Instagram and signing up to our mailing list, to ensure you are one of the first to know when new styles are released.

Is your brand ethical and sustainable?

We would never claim to be 100% ethical or sustainable, but we are doing our best and consciously working towards making improvements as we go.

At Benton The Label we are a handmade to order, slow fashion brand, with every item made from start to finish in Auckland, New Zealand. As a made to order brand, we hold absolutely no stock and only make items as they are purchased. We do this to ensure that we are not creating any unnecessary waste. Every item made is wanted and loved, ideally!

With the scrap fabric that results from cutting out our larger items, we are repurposing this into lining for our bucket hats, scrunchies, face masks, and more items on the horizon.

We have costed our items with labour at the current New Zealand living wage of $22.75/h. This is to ensure that as we grow as a company and look to outsource some labour, we are able to pay at the very least a fair wage to any contractors.

With our sizing, at present our items are available in NZ sizes 6-16. We have a plan in place to expand this offering to be more inclusive when our budget allows. True inclusivity with sizing is something that matters so much to us, so we are very much looking forward to being able to properly represent this in the near future.

With our packaging, our items are currently wrapped carefully in tissue paper, and shipped either within a recycled plastic mailer, or within a recyclable cardboard box. We always welcome any and all feedback, and would love to hear any suggestions on what our customers would like from us in this - and all - areas.

Do you accept custom orders?

As your Benton The Label pieces are made to order, we’re more than happy to assist if you would like to make a custom adjustment to the hem or sleeve length of our garments. If you would like a custom adjustment please ensure to contact us via email or Instagram prior to purchasing and we will be happy to assist you further.

Another lovely benefit of made to order? If you would like one of our pieces in a custom fabric, we’re happy to assist. Please get in touch with us via email or Instagram to discuss your customisation.

Please note that custom fabrics may be priced differently, so a slight difference in costs may apply. Benton The Label reserves the right to respectively say no to customisations that do not align with our brand.

Do you ship internationally?

We absolutely do! Please find our international shipping costs here, or feel free to get in touch with any enquiries. We would love to help.

When ordering internationally do I have to pay customs and import duties?

If you are purchasing anything from our website and you live outside of New Zealand please be aware of any import duties and taxes that may be charged on delivery into your country. These charges depend on your country's import legislation and are not covered by Benton The Label. If these taxes are imposed, the approximate delivery time may be affected.
